This privacy policy explains how EngageHut (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and protects personal information you share with us when you visit engagehut.com or subscribe to our newsletter. We take data protection seriously and aim to give you clear information about how your data is handled under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

What personal data we collect
We only collect the information we need to run this site and stay in touch with subscribers:
- Email address when you subscribe to our newsletter
- Name, if you choose to provide it on our subscription form
- Website usage data (pages visited, device type, country, referring site) through privacy-friendly analytics
- Any information you voluntarily share when contacting us by email or through website forms
- Technical data such as IP address and browser type, processed by our hosting provider for security and uptime
We do not collect sensitive categories of personal data, and we do not use Google Analytics.

We process your personal data only for specific, limited purposes, with a clear legal basis in each case:
- Sending the EngageHut newsletter and related updates (legal basis: your consent)
- Replying to questions you send us (legal basis: legitimate interest)

How long we keep your data
- Newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe or request deletion
- Contact emails: up to 24 months after our last interaction
- Analytics data: aggregated only, with no personal identifiers retained
- Server logs: up to 30 days
Who we share your data with
Your data is never sold. We use a small number of trusted service providers to operate EngageHut:
- MailerLite, for newsletter delivery (based in the EU, GDPR compliant)
- Our website hosting provider, for site operation and security
- A privacy-friendly analytics provider, for aggregated usage statistics
Each provider processes your data under a Data Processing Agreement and only for the specific purpose we contract them for.
International data transfers
Where any provider transfers data outside the European Economic Area, we rely on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards to protect your rights.
Your rights under GDPR
As a data subject, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Request deletion of your data
- Restrict or object to how we process it
- Receive a portable copy of your data in a common format
- Withdraw your consent at any time (this does not affect processing done before withdrawal)
- Lodge a complaint with the Malta Office of the Information and Data Protection Commissioner (idpc.org.mt) or your local supervisory authority

Cookies
EngageHut uses the minimum cookies required to run the website. We do not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. If you leave a comment on the site, your browser may save a cookie so you do not have to re-enter your details next time. You can delete all cookies through your browser settings.
Data security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data: HTTPS encryption in transit, secure password storage, limited administrative access, and regularly updated software. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we take every reasonable step to protect your information.
Children
EngageHut is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, email us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top. Material changes will be communicated to newsletter subscribers by email.
